Umělecký ředitel divadelní společnosti Prague Shakespeare Company, Guy Roberts, vypisuje konkurz pro herce a herečky na divadelní sezonu 2014-15. Konkurz se bude konat v úterý 2. září 2014 od 13:00 do 17:00 hodin ve zkušebně PSC na adrese: Kolowratský palác – 2. patro, Ovocný trh 579/6, Praha 1. Konkrétní čas konkurzu je nutno předem domluvit, a to na e-mailové adrese: casting@pragueshakespeare.org, kam je třeba také zaslat fotografii a umělecký životopis. Uchazeči, kteří se nemohou konkurzu zúčastnit, mohou do 1. září 2014 na tutéž e-mailovou adresu zaslat svou videonahrávku (konkrétní podmínky viz níže). Druhé kolo konkurzu pro užší výběr uchazečů se uskuteční 3. – 5. září 2014 tamtéž.

Základní podmínky:
- výborná znalost anglického jazyka
- odpovídající herecké vzdělání
- předchozí herecké zkušenosti s účinkováním v Shakespearových divadelních hrách

2014-15 Season Auditions in Prague
The Prague Shakespeare Company (www.pragueshakespeare.org), Guy Roberts Artistic Director, will be holding by-appointment-only auditions from 1pm-5pm (13:00-17:00) on Tuesday 2nd September, 2014 for its 2014-15 Season in Prague at the PSC rehearsal studio – 2nd floor, Kolowratský palac, Ovocný trh 579/6, Prague 1

All PSC 2013-14 Season productions will play in Prague, Czech Republic at PSC’s 100-seat flexible studio space: Divadlo Kolowrat in the Kolowratský palac, Ovocný trh 6, Prague 1. All productions, with the exception of the Czech premiere of Venus in Fur, are performed in English. The PSC 2014-15 Season begins September 30, 2014 and ends June 30, 2015.

Artistic Lab Project: Mary Stuart by Friedrich Schiller – Lindsay Taylor, director

2014-15 PSC Titles already cast (seeking replacements & alternates):
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) – Guy Roberts, director
Macbeth by William Shakespeare – Guy Roberts, director
Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare – Tina Packer, director

English language proficiency, Shakespeare experience and training essential. Minorities and unique types especially encouraged to apply. For artists not able to attend the auditions in Prague, video auditions may be submitted to casting@pragueshakespeare.org by 1st September, 2014.

Agents, Managers and Artists interested in consideration should submit a picture and CV electronically to casting@pragueshakespeare.org. A PSC representative will return contact should the artist be invited to audition. Auditions may be recorded for the review of unavailable directors. Callbacks will be held on 3rd-5th September, 2014 in Prague at PSC facilities.

All artists who audition are asked to present two contrasting monologues in English with at least one monologue from a Shakespeare play, preferably in verse. Artists who also sing are asked to present 16 bars of an English language up tempo and a ballad, (preferably from a different Sondheim show) and to have recorded accompaniment although singing a cappella will be accepted. All auditions should be no longer than five minutes total for actors and ten minutes total for actors / singers. Timing will be enforced.

All actors, directors, designers, musicians and stage managers who work with PSC are members of the PSC seasonal artistic company. The seasonal artistic company, under the guidance of the Artistic Director, work constantly together to explore a cohesive classical style. PSC provides an ensemble atmosphere for extended theatrical exploration wherein company members work as a group to develop skills and to perfect their craft through the continuity of several productions and ongoing training workshops. The quality of commitment demanded of the company members fosters a cohesiveness and intensity of approach to PSC’s classical repertoire.
